Sorry for that big post.So with the method 4 just didn't work. I dont know whats wrong with it. In fact, several people have reported that “Checking for updates” step toke them about an hour after which windows update started working properly and detected the packages required for your system. I didn't even need to do step 2.2 in the above article to update the slow update client problem cause it was already installed in 2015 w/ other updates.
