After years of having my systray icons disappear and playing with very limited success with msconfig, disabling services and re-installing apps and numerous rebuilds……. I was experiencing this issue and no one (most notably, no one at Microsoft) seemed to know, or care, about the issue. You might like to know that to completely solve the problem, I combined two methods.
